initialize failed -4....

When The device "Saitek GM2" is connected,AH can't run with message "initialize failed -4,Joystick failed -11".
What's mean?

 I'm sure this won't be any help at all but.....

I used to get this with my Cyborg 3D (Gameport). I found I had to re calibrate it in windows each time I re booted & also in AH each time I loaded AH otherwise I got exactly the message you describe. (Worked fine with other games)???

I now have a Cyborg 3D (USB) and it's fantastic. No problems at all. Hasn't helped my flying though.

Delete the video.cfg and stick.cfg files in your settings directory and restart the game. This should fix the problem. You will need to tell it what video to use again and reset your joystick.

Make sure you have Direct X 6.1 or newer as well. (DX 7.0a is best by far.)  I've seen this error given when you have DX 6 or older.

But, AcesHigh doesn't work with SaitekGM2.

SaitekCyber3D USB is very good  , but Cyber3D for gameport is Damn.

I confirm that aces high will not work if
you have the saitek GM2 plugged in, had the same error, unplugged the GM2 and plugged in a ps2 mouse and Aces came up with no problem.
