i am running a pentium 4 3ghz processor with 2 megs of ddram, a radeon saphire 1600x 512 bit video card and an audigy zs 2 sound card. i am still using my logitech extreme fromwalmart and so far it is holding up ok. i just bought a fully digital raving wheel and pedals, and shifter from Thomas Enterprises. So that make getting a new high end flight controller out of the question for a month or 2.
i have a few questions and any help or sugestions would ne apperciated.
1. ok i have no stuttering or video problems BUT evidently i have hit something that has cause the draw ahead limit to not show the horizon in full screen. the best way i can desribe it is that as i fly the ground fills in "on the horizon in squares as i move forward" i know i turned on ground view and that is when it started so how do i turn it off?
2. i have both object and ground detail range maxed out. i get 50 to 50 frames now but before hitting the grpund view key it was always in the 90 fps range no matter what i was in or how many planes or detailed objects where in the area. Does 60 ish sound like a reasonable number?
3. I have a few investments comming to payoff early April. I plan to build or have a firend who own's a computer store build me a monster gammingmachine. as of now i am looking to go with the following and would like input if you disagree or have them and have feedback about how well they have worked for you. system project as follows.
pentium core 2 duo 3ghz or better.
4 gb of the fastest ram ddr or rr.
twin video cards "THIS IS WHERE I NEED HELP, RADEON OR NVIDEA AND WHAT MODEL NUMBER ALSO WHAT BRAND EXAMPLE,PNY, EVGA, ALBETROS, AND SO FORTH."
AUDIGY X-FI PLATINUM SOUND CARD AND DECIDING WHETHER OR NOT TO SWITH FROM MY LOGITECH 5.1 SURROUND SOUND ANALOG TO A 5 OR 7 .1 DIGITAL SPEAKER SYSTEM.
