348th Fighter Group
« on: March 11, 2007, 11:14:22 AM »
Historically, the 348th FG was the first P-47 fighter group in the Pacific Theater, assigned to 5th Air Force.  Interestingly enough, the core group of pilots that formed the group were split from the 56th FG before they left for England.  For the first year and a half, they flew P-47D's.  In January of 1945, they began a transition into P-51D's.

Our squadron is a teamwork oriented group, using wingmen tactics and formation flying.  For the most part, you'll find us flying the MA in Jugs and Ponies, and during FSO's, we typically seek the same rides if available.  Squad functions are almost always in either of the two planes.

Prerequisites:  Have a headset, be a subscriber, know your way around the game.  Two week trial period during which you can fly with us, after which you gain membership.

You're not limited to the Jug or Pony--fly what you want and like.  Just understand that most squad events, we'll be using these planes.  We will help you transition into them if you'd like and are more than happy to help practice with you in the TA or DA.  Periodically, we have training events where we practice tactics, formation flying, and aircraft familiarization.

Find me online, usually in the LW MA's or drop me a PM.

Cheers,
