Actually Westy, it is the video card drivers that make use of this memory.
Rule of thumb is; Set the AGP aperature size to the amount of memory you have on your video card, if you have enough ram.
The aperature is the amount of system ram that will be used by the video driver for agp bus transfers. Setting ti larger than the amount of video ram is a waste of memory. Although if the video drivers are written correctly, they should never use more system ram than the card has.
