Converting to avi using ahfv
« on: March 19, 2007, 03:54:34 AM »
I am having problems converting ahfv files to avi.  I convert them and they are there, but will not open in media player.  Is there a tutorial on the ahfv somewhere, that explains all the diff options?  I am still not sure how to use the capture functions and editing capabilities of the ahfv.

i have toyed with it and the resulting avi is uncompressed  so its freaking huge ..like gigabytes ..

after you convert take it into something like virtualdub and compress it with a  cool codec ..like divx or xvid (if someone knows of a better codec let me know-i'm looking for good-high quality but not be scary big)

i am absolutely not an expert ..just a guy with lots of beer and a little free time.

The long story short: Don't use the export feature in the film viewer. Use FRAPS or some other capture software.

The end result, the video you're making, won't be any faster than 30fps. Don't need any more FPS than this unless you want slo-mo.
