Major lag issues
« on: January 08, 2008, 06:36:44 AM »
I looked back thru the logs and did not see this posted, so wanted to see if anyone else has been having screen freeze issues lately.  The last week or so, I have been having extreme lag issues, screen freezes, everyone warping around me, etc.  I thought it was me and my crappy connection, but yesterday several others were having the same problems including 2 squadies.  This seems to have started around the last server upgrade.... just wanted to get this out there.

Run pinplotter. As the internet gets busy....like during christmas shopping and the "return" process, or when kids are out of school..... connections and lag gets worst. If you run pingplotter to one of the mains for15-20 minutes and your connection stays steady and you have no packet loss, THEN you might post here asking if HTC is having a problem. In most cases your going to find that your ISP is rerouting your connection thru "tier 3" connections or are choaking off your bandwidth.

Check it from your end and see what you find

It is either network related, or resource related, or both.

All these are things you have some control over.  Resource related is a simple matter of popping open the "Task Manager" and checking the local computer usage out.

Network related is a matter of obtaining Ping Plotter (http://www.pingplotter.com) and running a healthy number of samples to 206.16.60.37 to see if there is any issues there.  I can run the return trip once you post the data.

For the most part, these are not things we can fix.
