I often get shot by a tank in front of me that I have not even seen.

What size screen do people have and is it possible some have much higher definition or whatever makes a difference than others?

Before you ever get into a GV, open the clipboard, go to set-up, graphics and slide the ground detail slider to 3 miles (maximum).  Then use zoom if needed to increase visibility.

Also engage Ground Vis mode when driving a tank by pressing Shift-F4.
