While flying along about 10 miles SSE of P63 (launched from CV62) my screen decided to suddenly shrink both horizontal and vertical size and adjust its horizontal position so the right hand edge was just outside the visable area. It did it with a shudder like it was shifting resolutions, but there was no apparent rez change. Told my squadmate I'd be back later so I could see about sorting this one out and alt+f4'd out of AH. The screen stayed where it was, so using the monitor's onscreen controls I reset the horizontal and vertical sizes and positions and went on my merry way trying to think of what might've caused it and running around the net being a general hooligan
No further wierdness followed.
Until I fired up AH to fly some tonight. I clicked the desktop shortcut for AH and the screen went right back down to where it was when I quit AH earlier in the afternoon. I hit the quit button and my desktop was just as it should be, filling the screen. Started AH again, and again came the shift in H size and position and V size. Thinking something may have gone screwy in the vid cfg I quit AH, nuked that file, restarted AH, and chose 1280x1024x32, what I've been running AH at for a year or more. Got on into AH and the screen was still shrunk and shifted right. Thinking Whiskey Tango Foxtrot I made a note of the settings (monitor onscreen) and quit AH again to compare to outside AH. I was surprised at the difference. Started AH up again and adjust the screen to where I wanted it and went on to fly. Nothing weird happened for an hour and a half (not counting the usual wierdness of the MA of course
).
An hour and a half after logging in I notice a marker around A18 and jump to that tower to check it out. An F4U is strafing the ack, so thinking 'easy meat' I jump to the hanger and select the M16 and we get a system freeze. Solid lockup requiring a press of the reset button to fix. Get rebooted, go back to the MA, back to A18, back to the hanger, M16 selected, click the H to spawn, start the engine, and system freeze, complete with a lot of gray lines appearing on the map (kinda like the lines for a TG's course) and general wierdness in the view, little 'see through dots' appearing all over the truck's dash/inside. Reset button, reboot, log back in.
Back to the hanger, M16 still selected, but I change the selection to a spitV and wait in the tower for the goon I know is coming. Goon shows up, I spawn, kill it, land, and go to join an attack. We capture A8, I land and rearm to head for 27 but we get intercepted, a fight ensues, I get some kills, run for home, see nit fleet approaching from SSW, land, go to the hanger, click in the scroll bar to get to the TBM quicker (not the arrows, in the bar) and system freeze.
Reset button, relog, A8, TBM, launch and die multiple times while trying to torp the fleet. Last run I actually survive, land, go to the hanger, click the arrow button this time, system freeze.
Reset button.
Haven't seen any other wierdness in any other applications. Only other game I really play atm is C&C Red Alert 2 (Soviet disc atm), and no problems with it. I played it for a couple hours after the last press of the reset button to see if anything wierd would happen.
System:
AMD K6-2/400 on a Via 503+ board
Diamond Viper 770 Ultra (TNT2 Ultra)
128mb PC100 RAM
4.3GB and 7.0GB hdds
Diamond Supra Express 56e external modem
SB Live! (daughter card not installed)
Zip Zoom SCSI card for external SCSI Zip drive
Packard Hell 7480 17" monitor w/ all the energy star stuff and onscreen controls
Win98 SE with current updates

Diamond 4.02 drivers for the Viper as they've given me the best performance in AH, latest drivers on every thing else.
Only thing different from flying yesterday to today was I installed TweakUI and turned on anti aliasing in the properties for the Viper.
