Strat Bombing
« on: March 28, 2007, 01:29:18 PM »
I can't seem to get a concrete explanation of the
strat bombing system.  Can someone explain it
to me with hard numbers?

For example, if I destroy a city and get it down to
say, 24%, what effect does that have on the game?

Same goes for AAA Factories, Troop centers, etc.
How are they related?
What is the resupply order?

Just trying to explore this aspect of the game
with squadies and a good understanding of this
system would be of a great help.

Thanks,

david

Strats influence the airfiels they're linked to.

Ack strat helps resupply an airfield that's been deacked.

However, the time it takes for that airfield to have its ack resupplied depends on the strat. If the strat is 100% down it might take hours (I don't have the exact times, but you can find them on the forums somewhere).

Can't give you hard numbers, minutes/seconds, but taking down dar, troop, ack, fuel, and city strats can affect the downtime of radar, ack guns, fuel, and ammo/hangars. I think that's how it goes. Ammo might be linked to ack factories.

Found in 5 seconds going to the AH Help page.
LINK

City Damage Status
The city damage status indicates the percentage of objects destroyed in a city complex, which then affects the resupply of personnel to the factories via trains.

Refinery Damage Status
The refinery damage status indicates the percentage of damage to a zone's fuel refineries, which then affects the resupply time of the field fuel structures.

Ammunition Factory Damage Status
The ammunition factory damage status indicates the percentage of damage to a zone's ammunition factories, which then affects the resupply time of the ordnance available at the fields.

Radar Factory Damage Status
The radar factory damage status indicates the percentage of damage to a zone's radar factories, which then affects the resupply time of radar at the fields.

Training Barracks Damage Status
The training barracks damage status indicates the percentage of damage to a zone's training barracks, which then affects the resupply time of bunkers and troops available at the fields.

Ack Factory Damage Status
The ack factory damage status indicates the percentage of damage to a zone's ack factories, which then affects the resupply time of field ack.

It is somewhat out of date.
I hope that the strat system is still valid.

Thanks again for the link.

Those pages are out of date, yes. It's better to go off of the forums than those pages.

I know it's been discussed many times, including the downtimes and how the strat affects them, I just can't remember what they were right now.

Delta,

Here's what Skuzzy told me a long time ago over the phone.  To achieve the 2.5 down time to which the strat page refers (2 hrs for ammo on the field + 3 hours if ammo factory be destroyed) 3 things need to be achieved.

1) City in that zone down to 0
2) Factory in that zone down to 0
3) Ammo, for example, porked at a field in the same zone.

FWIW, I've never seen it happen.  For example, 5 hours with no troops.

I have seen, esp when we had larger maps with many zones, the situation arise where a country will capture bases outside of their own zone, that is encroaching in an enemy's zone supplied by the enemy's cities, factories, and resupply mechanisim, and have the new field you just captured be resistant to manual resupply.  4 or 5 guys driving m3's in and she's still not resupplied.  I suppose that is due to the new field not receiving being resupplied internally and invisibly by the strat system.

From what I have seen, no matter what is said otherwise, the hangers pop back up in minutes. Ack will regen after so many minutes as well. I havent tested the ord and troops but there were times on the big maps that seemed to be affected by bombing the factories. These small maps I dont see an effect though.

  Best bets in buffs...
Kill strats if you are scoring
   Kill a town
   Kill the acks at field
Kill the strats at the field
   Kill the VH
   All else fails kill hangers

In my opinion the strat factories are just targets for bombers.
