I've occasionally seen the same thing in the MA.
Its a rare occurance but it does happen

Most recently a couple nights ago A P47 changed ID and became a 190
I was watching it the entire time It was a Jug then I went just out of icon range I was watching it to see what it was going to do.
the spec never changed.
It wasnt out of Icon range very far or long enough for it to have been a different plane, and I never lost visual on it so it wasnt a different plane. It came back into icon range and it was a 190
