Stick setting & VOX problems w/ new Computer.

So last night I go to play AHII using my new computer for the first time & luckily I still had AH installed on the old CPU, otherwise I would have to remember what my 30 some buttons on my Saitek X52 were set at ;  but I’m having problems w/ the auto level & speed staying on and the handling of the planes is real (if I may use a good technical term) ‘loosy goosy’ lol & even though I calibrated my throttle & stick I am unable to keep the rudder & throttle calibrated.

I’m also having a problem w/ my VOX.  I can hear everything & the mic sounds VERY sensitive but ppl say my VOX is VERY low.  I have gone to my ‘Control Panel’, Sounds & Audio Devices & looked at all the setting on my new computer and the mic Vol. is set to high, the mic boost is on;  but when I go to the ‘Test Hardware’ section of the “Voice” tab the sound of my voice does not transmit at a high vol. to pass the test on my new computer.  Although when I do a test on my old computer the audio speech test works .

Planes coming off of auto-pilot settings is usually a result of either spiking or of sensitivity in the centered position. Increasing the deadband is the solution to either problem.

Can't talk to the mic problem... I'd post in the Hardware / Software forum. If it doesn't pass in Windows, you can't expect it to work well in the game.

How did you install AH on the new rig?
Fresh install or did you copy AH from the old computer by burning a cd of it?

I used a 4 GB Flash Drive

Just wondering if any setting files got marked 'read only' so settings wont save.

Copying programs over via eg, a flash drive rather than installing them properly is never reccommended.

I'd try installing it properly if you can. Think you can still copy your head positions etc etc back in after if you save the right files.

Backup settings folder, skins if you like, and the AHIITerr (terrains) Burn your backed up folders to a cd.

Do a clean install of AH and once thats done then copy over your saved data.
Will work much better.

I saved my Flash Driven files to 'My Documents' as 'Old HTC'.

What is the name of the file w/ the head positions?  I would like to keep it cause all the planes I fly have been personalized.

Ratfink head positions are all saved in settings folder by plane name.

I ran into the same problem with my new x52 a couple of times over a month's time. I simply pulled out the s-video cable that joins the two controls and plugged it right back in again. (I was flying at the time. Problem solved. ) I am using the controllers without the software that comes with them. I think somehow an internal value gets skewed during operation and it needs to be recentered. No complaints for the last couple of weeks now.  HOpe this helps.

It always seems to me that a hammer works better on some of these things...
