Mexico decides American Laws?

Make you wonder after customs & border agent gets tossed in jail for shooting a drug dealier at the border. The dealier is here illegally. He gave up his right to visit America legally.

Culero, although I concede you do have more experience than I do, and I accept your opinion is better founded, I still say they need to leave just like every other illegal, and come back legally.
Good neighbours as they may be, everyone'll be better off once they do.

I agree. But, IMO, serious reform of the immigration laws is needed, plus more aggressive pursuit and prosecution of those US citizens who provide employment to illegal aliens.

If the jobs dry up because people don't wanna be spanked for hiring illegals, then we'll by default have much less illegals. And it should be much easier than it is for those people who can fill jobs that we need filled to be here legally.

storchita...  I don't recall.   It might have been mars.   As I recall tho you were loosing it.

I could use some fuses tho...  every time I wire a car I kill a couple getting things sorted out... how bout you?

Far as illegal aliens go... they are illegal.  they are breaking the law.

The guys who hire em are breaking the law too tho.   the thing is... It is easy to get the guys hiring em.  We need to do that.  Put the traitorous bastards in jail and the problem will go away within a year.

Mandatory jail sentences for any employer who knowingly hires an illegal alien.

I was surprised to hear mccain talk about arresting and jailing those who would hire illegal aliens because, while we should protect our border... it is pretty much impossible or impractical to keep out illegals if there is opportunity here.

It is like putting out bird feeders and cursing because of all the bird **** around your house.

It would also help to if the Border Patrol didn't keep their checkpoints closed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year.  In San Diego, there are 2 major checkpoints, on the I-8 and I-5 and a minor one on the Old 94 Highway Route, just east of Chula Vista.  The checkpoints on I-8 (a major illegal alien and drug smuggling route) and the I-5 have been closed for about 3-4 years now and the minor check point has sporadic and random operating hours.  The reason for the closing of the two major checkpoints and the sporadic operation of the other has been blamed on funding.

You would think if the Republicans were serious, they would make sure the Border Patrol gets the necessary funding to keep these checkpoints open and I'm sure these aren't the only checkpoints that are like this.

But I guess bellicose retoric gets better press and more votes.
