Help! Dual Monitor Resolution Problem!
« on: April 07, 2007, 10:53:20 AM »
I've got an NVidia GeForce FX 5500 graphics card, which is capable of supporting two monitors.
Up until yesterday I was using two monitors when playing all my games including Aces High. Last night I decided to disable one and just use one primary monitor for all my gaming.

When I loaded up Aces High after disabling the 2nd monitor, this is what I saw.
(note that I had to take this picture with a digital camera of my actual screen)

It's almost as if it wants to use the second monitor to fill up the rest of the screen. Now when I take a screenshot of the game, this is what I got.

That's completely normal, but unfortunately that's not what I see when I maximize the game.
Does anyone know what's happening here? Or how I can fix it?
Thanks.

*edit*
I run my desktop @ 1280 x 1024, and when using dual monitors my game was running at 1024 x 768. I've tried changing the video settings to all types of resolutions but the screen still stays stretched out like that.

Use the Nvidia sofware to control how many monitors you have.
Time's fun when you're having flies.

I had taken those screenshots after I disabled the second monitor.
Trust me I already went through every single troubleshooting method I could think of.
If it were that simple I wouldn't have posted in the first place.

However...there was one troubleshooting idea I left for last, which was updating the video drivers.
That seems to have fixed it, although other games I have are still experiencing graphics and animations problems.

Guess I'll have to take it one game at a time.

What happens if you plug the second monitor back in?

You could try going to your AH folder - delete the video8.cfg from your setting folder there. Then restart the game and adjust your video settings. Or, if you can see your clipboard, use the video settings there to change the resolution.
