I just installed this card a few weeks ago and am very happy with it's performance. Did you boost the mic level in the advanced portion of the sound control panel?

This card will relieve the CPU strain most audio cards create. It's got something like 51 million transistors onboard. It's a bit pricy at $130-140 but well worth it IMO.

Yes Flatbar I did .

In the last two days I have done everything I could think of also to fix the problem . I been one step ahead of my tech support also .

I really do believe it's the hardware on the card that's defective on this .

Glad you wrote though , now I know at least one person is having good luck with his card . I know they will send me another to replace this one .

Lets not hope it's a mb to SB problem :( I bet not as they build alot of Asus I bet .

I have removed it , reinstalled drivers , updated drivers , have the Mic maxed in both places , tested in Device Manager , tested with sound recorder and it's just soooooo sooo soft .

I just tried setting to 96KHz and 24-bit and that didn't do nothing to help it also .

Gonna send this link to my tech guy too :)

Sorry for the hijack Balsy :(

On mine they put the sound card in the slot the farthest from the video card , with one slot between it and the modem .

Hope that helps you .

I was getting skratching sounding nosies on my "old pc" when I used vox untill I followed Skuzzys advice and moved mine sound card to a slot farthest from video card . Other than that PC worked ok on that MB with the sound card right up next to the video card .
