Question on sound packs
« on: April 01, 2007, 09:42:47 PM »
I downloaded the soundpack on schatzii's site, and I cannot get the chedck 6 to work..There seems to be a few different check 6's in the file.and I am wondering if I need to get rid of  the one or ones I dont want, and keep just the one I want.

Also,is it possible to mix and match the sounds from differentr sound packs? And if so.how do I accomplish this?

Lets use the p-51 as an example of  sound that is in one sound pack, but I like another p-51 sound in a different soundpack, and I want to switch it.

                                                         Thanks,
                                                            Kevin

Which soundpack did you download?  The creater of it can probably help you.  Yes, you can change any sound, just be sure you keep the name of the sound the same as the one you are replacing.

I downloaded yours ranger, and sketches..I like some of both of them. And I want to mix and match...I will also be downloading all of  them and eventually mix my sound match my personal taste..

But again, the check 6 is not working in the one I downloaded and currently have in my sound folder from sketch...Do I need to get rid of all but one?

                                                    Thanks,

Just label one of them check6
That should do it.  The others in there that are labeled 'check6old', 'check6funky', etc. will not effect game play at all.  The one in there for the default should be Darth Vader's breathing...

Question on sound packs

LOL sketch...I wondered what was going on when I would hear that...The very first time I did hear it I was up quite high in a bomber..and I thought,"OH cool",it is telling me that I am now breathing O2..:lol

Then I was in a furball and I heard it a few more times, and I thought..hmmmm...now something is defiently odd...:lol

Anyway,I am enjoying the packs, and am now learning to mix and match a little.

Why the folder files, and the WAV files by themselves at bottom of list?

  And  another question...

I look in your pack, and under some planes it has for an example,tire..
When I look in another sound pack,as I am with rangers,it is not there...I guess what I am saying is that the sounds in WAV file in each plane sometimes do not match up..And I do not know if I can ADD something in a file where none is...,QUESTION,tire landing sound in your folder, and not a tire landing sound in rangers..can I add TIRE to rangers and not affect the sound file,or game play?

I hope the question makes sense..

                                                          Thanks,
                                                                 Kevin

And by the way,I dig the sound files you guys have taken the time to do..:aok :aok :aok

yes you can Falcon.  Here's how it works.  Notice in my soundpack that the tire.wav sound is one of the sound files list by themselves and not in the subfolders.  That means all the planes will get that tire sound when landing.  Now, if you insert a different tire.wav sound into one of the subfolders(Example P-51D) then that specific plane will have that tire sound.  You could give each and every plane a different tire sound if you so choose, just make sure the sound file is called tire.  You can do this for any sound in the game.  Heck, you could even put in laser sounds for your P-51 50 cals if you wanted.  Mix & match and create your own all you want.  Enjoy bro!
