ATI all-in-blunder 32mb AGP
p3850 256mb dx8
ever since 1.05 about 1k off the ground in certain angles my ground objects disappear.  Ground objects turn into white squares & ships AND PLANES disappear over water ~1k.  Its hard landing on an invisible carrier.  I know its the ATI p.o.s. but the dang thing was $200 (needed it for vidcapping).  Anyone know a "fix" to get around this? BTW i am still using the previous driver because I am aware the new one is buggy.

If that is a Rage chip card, I beleive the driver version that works best is 4.12.6263.

The .6063 driver is better, but it has it's own bugs.  There is text buffer "tearing", and text flickers in windows.

I haven't tried the very newest drivers, nor have a risked ruining my system with DX8. (There is a DX8a now.)

S!

Another thing to try is to Disable Z-Buffer in Video Options. It helped me to get rid of vanishing buildings on strafe runs and cloaking fighters in dogfight.
