Now even at 1.5 still hard to see well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHY does it have to be SOOOOOOOOOOO DARK??????????
It's been said we have three brains, one cobbled on top of the next. The stem is first, the reptilian brain; then the mammalian cerebellum; finally the over developed cerebral cortex.  They don't work together in awfully good harmony - hence ax murders, mobs, and socialism.

I disagree with the positive comments posted regarding the terrain.
Except for some differences for the vehicle guys, I think that
overall the terrain is a step in the wrong direction.

At first blush it looks like my back lawn.

The big problem is that because of the lack of detail
and the opaque, featureless nature of the majority
of the terrain that you lose distance perception.

When you are manuevering in a fight on the deck
you can easily auger because the featureless terrain offers
no visual clues regarding how close you are leading to
absolutely NO depth perception.
Its very irritating.

Also, the lack of lanes between the trees has removed
a means of escaping an attacker: I have forced a
less aware pilot to crash into a tree as I navigated the
slalom but now that tactic is gone.

I much perferred the old terrain.

This new terrain looks like older versions of Fighter Ace.
A step backward IMHO.

I do like the new details at the fields, especially the new gun positions. Even the new "green ocean"

But I have major trouble with the dark green seemingly "featureless terrain". Wether in tank or plane, I do have no real depth perception anymore, I can bareley, if at all, see the contours of small hills anymore. I have to crank up gamma a lot, but it just doesnt help much

Love it on the ground, new details are awesome.  Sat in a hedgerow in a Tiger and racked up six quick Sherman scalps.  Hate it in the air, except at high altitude where new clouds, sky, and sea coloring is excellant.  But blindingly flat terrain effects in low level fighter combat are horrible.  I plowed many fields tonight simply because depth perception was non existant.  Possibly we can all adjust with time, but certainly old terrain was favorable for low level air combat.  Eyes hurt a bit too.

Yea what he said too.  I thought I was the only one then realizing this is not a bug but intentional, that really makes me wonder what they were thinking or, if they actually fly in this game before they release these patches.

I'm just not flying until this is fixed.  I'm no paying customer, but I'm sure a lot of those feel the same way I do.  In fact, if someone does not start a thread specifically about the darkness soon, I will do that myself.

I'm jumping on funny choice of color bandwagon.  I sure appreciate the efforts and the details add to the game but the funky bright green grass and really dark trees/forests kill my eyes.  If HTC had someone with color tone it would come off a lot better.

When I first logged in, the terrain was too dark, the shadows were too dark, and it was near impossible to follow the terrain while flying.

Then, before I spent a moment talking about how the new stuff failed, I adjusted my graphics, and gee, clear as a bell.

Guys, spend a moment, tweak stuff, it won't kill you.  Think about it, with all the available combinations of graphic cards, processors, ram, vid settings that are available, do you Honestly think there is a default setting that is going to work for everyone?   There isn't, but there Is the availability within your own systems to make it work.  Takes longer to post than to tweak, just sayin.

Maybe I'm wrong Roc but my colors looked just fine in everything else I can remember using.  I would hate to have to tweak everything to fly a few minutes and then untweak it  whenever I want to do anything else.

Not sure I understand, what I tweak in AH has no bearing on what the other games I play look like.

I love it so far. It looks incredible, and seems to run better at higher detail settings than it did before on low settings. I'm pleased.
