I guess the Nvidia control panel may not have the same controls as ATI does, Tex. You should have a way to make your new settings work as a "profile" for AH only. That should work... Good luck.

So is this a screen shot from in game or a screenshot you altered in PSP??

The first screen is unaltered.  The second screen is an alteration of the first.  I was unable to capture the exact ingame settings via screensot, so I mimicked them via PSP9 to represent what I see in-game.  They look pretty much identical to me, (my current ingame) vs. 2nd (altered) screenie.

You shouldn't have to change your brightness and settings to make it rock.  Other game and program developers don't force you to change all your system settings to use their applications.  Neither should HTC.

They just need to fix it.  After all, too many are having the same issues.

I never felt AH had a great sensation of speed after the removal of clutter overlay in AH 1 (ctrl - c, anyone?).  It feels vastly improved.  I think mostly the tile textures have the biggest effect with tree clumps, sheep, and other objects helping out.

The dense forest pockets with slight height variations give a nice semi-untiled effect (it better hides obvious patterns).  I always had the feeling of flying over a colorful landfill... now we have mini-ardennes, juicy trees. :)

Now, brightness certainly is an issue with unaltered settings.  Before the update I usually flew at a 1.25-1.4 gamma depending on the time of day.  Bumping the gamma further in this version gives a washed out effect, so I had to alter the contrast, brightness, and gamma from the desktop first.  From Control Panel > Display > Settings tab > Advanced > Color; I set them to the following:

Gamma: 1.50
Brightness:  5
Contrast:  120

I use more extreme settings for IL2, and it comes out very nice.  Bumping the contrast seems to get rid of the washed out effect.  Make sure you check "Full Screen 3D" so your desktop isnt insane bright after adjusting.

This worked for me

I finally gave up and turned my gamma in game up to 1.5 from 1.0 and was able to play and see the terrain ok. all the vehicles and airplanes and cockpits are damn bright now though and the sky is as well the sun is blinding after looking at the dark terrain.

all graphic asthetics aside...

it is straining the hell out of my eyes it hurts just looking at it
Fester was my in game name until September 2013

I tried everything!  Adjusted in AH, adjusted using Vid driver software, adjusted using monitor controls.

Was getting a headache from the standard settings.  Pretty bad after maybe 20 minutes of flying.  Tried it many times.  Always got a headache!

So finally found a combo of things that worked...............

You could try adjusting your color temp up.......

Use the monitor menu button and find color temp ... K

Had to turn mine up to over 8500K from 6500K

Some people have it turned up all the way to 9300K

AND i have gamma set to 1.5???

I can see fine now but word is it's hard on the monitor?

No headaches now though.

Darn shame we gotta do this just to fly in AH though :(

Everything else is pretty bright now!

Hope it's a bug that HTC can fix.
