How do I find out what kind of power supply my computer has?

open up the case..it should tell its specs on a sticker on the powersupply...or type in the name of your tower online..and you will find specs on your type of tower and what kinda powersupply it uses

okay, I have a 180 W power supply. I don't know much about the power supply, but this seems low? I know I know, technical support forum, but could an upgrade from a 128 mb to a 256 mb vid card with this low power supply be the reason im getting random total lock up's of AH?

how much memory you runing?....128 should be plenty for aces high..unless your card is shot....180w is a little small now days...but i never had a powersupply proublem...i think mine is 250 too 300w...ill have to get the crap i got piled on top of it and check later on:)..but im pretty sure its 250 to 300w..and im runing a old pentuim 4

768 RAM, and the video card has built in mem.

Cav, I'm running a 500 Watt PS, and not a super computer. This is the area too many people neglect when they upgrade a computer.
$70.00 to $110.00 for a decent PS.

Ya, 180 is way low and could explain alot if you are locking up. I haven't run a 180 watt PS since an old 386 pentium and DOS 5.0.

Don't get anything less than a 400 Watt PS and make sure the fan uses real metal ball bearings and not the cheap plastic flange type of fan.

For around 60-100 dollars you can get a good PS that will/should last for years.

Just remember that a 400w psu of high quality can be alot better than a 500w of lesser quality (plenty of both types around). Dont look at W alone, but check out reviews on the http://www.

And like the others have said...180 is on the low side even if the quality is good.

well I just saved myself 50 bucks...deleted AH and re-installed and no more lock up's =)
