My squad did a raid on an enemy port using 234s. My impulsive nature compelled me to take a 262 for escort. Their carrier was not far away and we actually passed through the radar ring to get to the port. I've never seen a group of people loose their minds so fast once they realized there were jets in the area.

(Image removed from quote.)

I survived the ordeal with the fighters without a scratch... didn't get a kill but was still unharmed. The damage came from attacking a lanc and B25 formation once we got back to base. Killed 1 lanc but had no ammo left over for the 25s, they were the ones that got my engine.

I would take it they were a bit low when you attacked?  Otherwise I'm gonna have to point out that you probably should have came in from below. :)

Wow I find it hard to believe it has been almost 38 days since our last path. We should have release another 38 versions by now  :bhead

We came in NOE and popped to about 1k when we hit the dar ring for the port. The goon never made it past the CV (his 262 fighter escorts couldn't be bothered to wait up for him). We had a few high planes come in but I'm assuming that the sheer number of jets was overwhelming. There were at least 5 full sets of 234s, 3 single 234s, 3 262s and a pony in the area. The 262s spent the time chasing CV plains aimlessly. When we left the sector there were 3 CV planes for every jet in the sector.

When I spotted the lancs coming in I was still on the deck doing 550. I pointed my F-16 towards the sky and grabbed 10k in 5 seconds.  :rock The lancs came in at 15k if I remember, but ended up climbing to 20k. I do have film that I can upload, possibly tomorrow.

While taking a rare Lancaster sortie, another rare event occurs:

Just barely got my bombs out and into the guns in the nick of time.

His closing speed was less than ideal and he paid the price.

Thousand pings of death.

He takes another blast (and another after that) right in the cockpit, but is undeterred.

As he passes by, I rudder hard over to avoid the tail guns and the fight is over.  Nyah -Nyah!  :neener:
