Hey Zoo, I fooled around with your picture a little bit, I hope you don't mind. I learned this new thing to make smoke, see if anyone else really likes it.

I think that trail needs some work. Notice how the trail moves across the spitfire's wing? From my angle, it seems quite unrealistic since once can clearly see that the spitfire is still below the 190. I'm not sure what you could do to prevent this, I'm simply pointing it out.

Can anyone else see what I'm describing?

Maybe a slight upward curve in the smoke trail and a little more fade towards the end?  A curve will make it look more above the spit.
Something like this

Maybe it needs to be moved inward some more yet keep its distance above the spitfire? As in move it closer in the direction of the rudder of that spitfire, yet keep the smoke elevated so one can tell it's passing a ways above the spitfire. I still see that, "abnormality." It just doesn't look natural.

Okay, I'm going to take another whack at it, see how it looks afterwards.

I'm still somewhat bugged by it. It is definitely better, though. This is what I'm looking at:

Perhaps if you move the smoke down some from there to follow the path of the yellow arrow? Just so you know, I don't know if that will fix the thing which is bugging me because I'm not very good with drawing 3D images. Just something to try.
