The only plane that attracts more attention than a 38, is a low, slow, single engine 262.

Try some rarely used aircraft.  P-40s attract much more attention than the P-38.  I'd also be surprised if the P-38 attracted more attention than Ju88s, Bostons or even Mosquitoes.

Well I may have exaggerating a little bit. Bostons, 88s, and Mosquitoes will attract more than a 38, but a P40... not in my biased opinion.
