Dogfights isn't exactly the best source of information, seeing as how the History Channel produced the series. IIRC, they once stated that the P-51 had a forward facing armament consisting of six fifty millimeter cannons.

I know i watched that episode 2 and was in stiches and saying trust the American's to get it wrong with their own aircraft
