Negative. An F4. Easy way to tell is to look for wing mounted cannons. This model does not, but has the markings of a desert-scheme 109F4. :aok

Always fun to take up an EW ride in the LW. My hit percentage must have jumped 4 percent from this kill!

The Emil is a great bird, especially when compared to her British and American competition. The F I really like for some reason, especially in the vertical.

Easy way to tell is to look for wing mounted cannons.

Or the rounded wing tips. Those were first incorporated in the F series.

Hans joachim marsielle skin of jg27 my favorite skin of all time!!

Probably my favorite skin as well.

Just think of the allied limerick when you want to recall the differences. They're day and night to me (I'd never confuse the 2, ever), but for anybody else:

"Willy's gone and made another
Something like it's older brother
Wingtips rounded, bigger spinner
Unbraced tailplane ends its figure
One Oh Nine F is its name
F for futile, not for fame."

Hm. Never heard that before. The two definitely are nearly completely different airframes, what with the much more streamlined look of the F. I would expect people to have more trouble differentiating the F from, say, a G-2.

That's because aside from a few minor indicators, there is little to tell you whether it's a G-2 or an F. Until it chases you down or outclimbs you and gives you a nasty surprise, or something like that.

I had noticed there was a difference between the wings of the 109E and the 109F, I knew the E was a bit 'chunkier' but I couldn't quite pin it. Noticed the lack of wing-mounted cannons probably a few minutes before I read the post Plazus made.

Either way, I like the limerick, I'll have to put that one on a notecard  :aok

OK So There i was in the D/A Flying in to try and take an F4U of my Squad Mates Tail :)

So I Fire a long range burst in hope of either hitting him or just to tell him im here you better move :) But i missed but he knew i was now there :)

So Ok he he rolls of my Squad mate but low and behold he rolls in front of me EEEEKKKK  :O And as i was closing at just over 340 knots/mph by the time he rolled in front of me i had time for only one thing and that was to collide or dive away or to pull up into a loop to regain a firing solution on him. So i did pull up  AND

And this is what happened next  :D :O :) A close Call EH :)
