Well tell him to sleep in the bunkers, Stryker has been pretty active lately and is the only place I've been shot at so far. I know its not the best thing to hear but just trying to be honest with you. Though that is also where all the "attractive" women are. Where I'm at the saying goes 'an Army woman doesn't have to be pretty, just patient' and I've only seen patient women since I've been here.

As far as first impressions go... holy cow! I could not even have imagined the size of the operation going on over here. Its easy to see how and why the Army is feeling drained. If any of y'all have been to Fort Hood in Texas and driven along "Hell Bender" drive and seen the miles and miles of motor pools then you can some what picture this complex I'm on. And this is just one of the areas the Army has established.

As far as my personal oppinion as to how things are going? We occupied Japan for 9 years after WWII, this place still needs time to adjust and I fear the erroding support at home will not allow us to stay through that trasition. And that would be a shame for all that have served and died over here

Better yet, let them know we ALL support the troops.

is that the same ALL who refuses to quickly give them the funds they need to do their job as safe and as quickly as possible without trying to make a bogus political statement out of the entire thing? Is that the same ALL who wants nothing more than Iraq to go down in history as another Vietnam?

sorry rpm - your ALL is NOT an ALL at all.
And the troops know it ...

Nice attempt at a political hijack. I'm here to support the troops, not a political position someone told me is right.

Ah yes, the old "2/10" deployment scale of attractiveness: if shes a 2 at home, shes a 10 while deployed.

My radar site is right next to pad 12 on the corner of Stransky and Ella but my trailer is over in Victory Village. I'm keeping my head down and only leave the wire when I'm forced to. Though when I leave its by helo and at night, 2 Rino buses that left for Taji on Saturday morning got attacked and one was destroyed by an IED. The natives are getting restless...

Yeah, I used to travel by Convoy when I had to go support folks over at Justice, Falcon, Etc, Was very glad the Unit allowed me to carry over there when I traveled.  You must Know some of the 2-1ID guys pretty well then huh?  That's who I supported when I was there.
