Hahaha

I was going to mention that when I saw this thread.

I'd never seen this sort of Lanc maneuvering before until Overlag nearly barrel-rolled his last Lanc into my 262.

I have that on film. I'm pretty sure my nose was less than 200 away from his tail assembly.

That was definately the most fun I've had in a 262 in ages.

3 sector chase to find them, 4 or  5 sector chase back trying to pick off two flights of lancs.

Awesome fight guys

Ok, this is the Lanc ACM action at 20k

It would really suck to be the crew in one of those things.... bones would be broken, I suspect.

Luckily for me, I went up and over after the near-collision and came back down with a front-to-back centreline shot as he came back up.

Again, exceptional flying, gents

You must be flying from the cockpit.

Try going to the chin gun position then hit F3, after putting your bomber on auto-pilot.  You can steer your plane (and the drones) with the rudder.  Stick movement just moves your outside view of the formation.

Almost impossible to lose drones flying like this...you can get pretty aggressive with the rudder without the drones losing formation.

Helps ALOT with bombing too.  You have a great view of the target and can use small amounts of rudder to line up on your target.  When you are comfortable that you are lined up properly jump into the F6 bombsight position.

It also makes formation flying with other bombers a breeze.

Thanks! We're bomber nerds, surprising people like that is the only real action we get ;)

!!!!;)

Id never do that with bombs, and its last resort. The rolls should have been downward to keep E but for some reason i was doing them up down everyway i could to make it harder to aim.

I just couldnt get any hits on you, or the 190 that chased me on a sortie after that run... was really annoying lol.

I think you got a few on me, but luckily I landed the 262 with just cosmetic damage.

If you had have gone down, I'd have stayed up to try finish Serenity's Lancs, so you might have made it home! A squadie was already on the way, trying to catch up in an A5 so you probably would have run into him on your way home.

It was a good run, it sort of felt like I was defending the Fatherland from deep strat bombing! haha

Read the original post, that's what I'm responding to. Did they do an immel and then dive bomb?

I've seen Nath loop and hammerhead with an entire formation of 17s. I've seen stang barrel roll 17s without losing drones, and his hammerhead is okay, he's just a little clumsy with the throttle (stupid mousewielder).

But who says buffs are EZmode or unrealistic?

After that epic journey in an A5, I'd say he deserved it.

He was down to 4 mins fuel by the time he finished you off.
