You simply select 512 texture resolution (or less, anything other than 1024) in the video options screen. This is the same screen you select screen resolution with.

Just reset your texture size to 512 in Video Settings. That's all that's necessary. You don't have to delete anything. After you change texture size... wait. It may take a little time. Just be patient and wait.

If you don't have the hi-res installed, it doesn't matter if you chose 1024... It's 512 in all but name.

The reason you INSTALL it in the first place, is so that choosing "1024" actually does something. WIthout it, 1024 does nothing. It's not enabled.

So, you were really running at 512 before that. Just go back to 512 in the drop box and it'll be back to normal.

sence new updates have same problem, use to run with sliders all the way right and got 75 FR, now with them left I only get 35-35. So bad that I have not been able to play tonight because every time I take off the computer locks up.

jtdragon, Did you try it WITH the new hires pack? There is a new one out, tho its a bit bigger than the old so if you were pushing the edge like bj was your computer might not be able to handle it any more. Lower textures to 512 and try again.

Haven't you noticed things like the buildings by the rearm pads look better? The rearm pads themselves? Everything from the tree textures to the tower textures to the runways (which look great, by the way) to the taxiways, to everything -- it used to be "hi res" only changed the aircraft default skins, now it changes EVERYthing!

Definitely looks better!

I still can't run it! :P

512 for me.

EDIT: I have Hi-res installed for skinning purposes.
