Film viewer tracers question

Say I don't have tracers on in flight, and I record a film. Say I want to take a screenshot from the film viewer, and would like the tracers for dramatic effect...

Can I just go into AH, turn tracers on, exit, bring up film viewer and they now appear? Or does it save a yes/no in the ahf file itself?

No, when you record in Aces High tracers must be on if you wish to see the tracers in the film. If tracers are off when you record they wont show up, If tracers are selected in game at the time your recording they will show up in the film viewer.
