I was on a bombing run last night with my Squad and I was given the VH on a small field as target. I have a folder with all the maps prointed out and set up the target and kept calibrating till the last possible moment. Bombs awat and I saw 3 hits on the VH but I get Barracks Destroyed!

If you look at the small fields map coming in from the North East the VH is the first building on the left hand side of the run way and that is what I saw blow up. Now if someone else had hit it and I was so far out why was the VH still up on field status

Yarble, I'm not sure this can explain what happened, but with 2.10 patch 2, the vehicle fields layout has been changed, and, IIRC, the clipboard map doesn't reflect this change, so it's not accurate for bombing.

Thanks anyway for taking it seriously, I am going to repeat the whole thing in the relative peace of early war and see if it was a fluke this evening. I dont thing their ready to throw me out of the squad quite yet either.

By the way and no complaint intended yarble is quite literally only half my name as there are two of them

In some places there's a barracks close to the VH. You could have killed it but not put enough on the hangar to pop it.

I see Krusty but on the small fields the VH is definately no where near the baracks unless there is another baracks not shown on the map. When I returned for another run what I took to be the VH had been replaced by a plume of black smoke.

If you would have a look at that map the only similar building near by is the ammo bunker the barracks is almost on the pad on the other side of the field.

I think I shall have to accept no one will believe me and try this again as above.

Wrong. One set of barracks just next to the VH:

They are not mentionedby name on the map but if I look closely I can see them.

By the way how did you get the close up.

For this picture I just upped a T34 in offline mode, went in F5 mode and zoomed in with Y and the zoom keys. Alt-S to save it, cropping and transforming in to JPG using IrfanView.

No, F5 view for vehicles does only work while you are in tower on hangar. For fighters, it does work while still on the ground, when in bombers it works all the time.

Technically I believe you could get that view in the Training Arena.
IIRC all external views are enabled there.

I misread Yarble's post, I thought he attacked a Vfield, not the VH in a small field!

Btw, too bad we can't zoom on the clipboard fields' maps, that would be useful, many times!

Agreed. I think somebody requested that once and somebody at HTC said it would be possible, but they haven't done it (yet?)
