Hell no, like I say all the time "If I wanted 6 50s, I'll get a P51".
Those 8 50s rather than 6 might make the difference between a killshot or jug hitting the other guy in a snapshot. And in a P47 the longer the fight, the closer you are from the grave in an arena filled with Spit 16s and LA7s.
The 56th favor the D40 over the D25/D11 because of the 300HP WEP boost over the other models. The P47N is the fastest under WEP but is still plagued with a slow acceleration. Due to the weight increase, it's the worst dogfighter of the serie. The D11 is your best bet for dogfighting, it's the most nimble. I personally favor the D25 just because it comes with French markings.
Contrary to the popular "keep it fast" belief, I advise to "slow down as fast as u can". The jug will bleed the energy faster than any other plane, allowing you to cut inside the average spitodeath, providing your snapshot opportunity. The other strong point of the jug is the semi-eleptical wing that allows you to pull hard on the stick and not snapstall.
You can do a lot of fancy stuff with the jug, that might get you out of trouble, but know that against a decent pilot there's not much you can do against a faster/better turner like the MA usuall rides.
The main attribute of the jug aces in here is that they all have an excellent gunery, doted with a nose "700y cone of death".
Have fun bro
