Same here,   Lost pretty much everything (House, clothes, furniture) in Rita and moved to Austin with clothes on my back and a few bucks in the bank.

True, but the tornadoes you get from a hurricane are rarely as intense as a super cell spawning out F5's over the great plains. I'm not negating hurricanes by any means, but you still have a better chance of getting away before the storm hits. Many times people are caught sleeping in bed by tornadoes.

The one between Greenville and Texarkana just cliped us to the North. It's been a busy storm season. Nothing like those poor folks in Kansas though.

I remember the pictures of the development of that one. Unreal how big it became it such a short amount of time. Sorry to hear about your friends.

My wife and I just stopped in Jarrell this past Saturday to buy gas on our trip home from San Antonio. Besides the gas station we really didn't see much else. We wondered how big the town had been before the twister hit.
