Please Betty don't give up.

I read about this and how you are presently feeling in the AMA Quarterly.

This usually happens to many of the Flight Sim Female PileIts, all of the French Male PileIts and some of the Male CanaDUHian PileIts.

It's actually called PMCMS. (Pre Menstrual Campaign Manager Syndrome)

Here are a few of the symptoms you may be feeling right now.

1.  The uncontrollable urges to fly a Sim and Kill everybody.

2.  The need to control others destinys.

3.  The wanting of others to find you extremely attractive on Channel 200.

4.  Secretively wanting others to Check Yer 6.

5.  Finding yerself young, dateless and free flying a Cartoon on a Pay Day Friday night.... alone, again... naturally.

6.  Prolonged periods of AFK as you bury your face into a pillow screaming
"Why didn't I just cut throttle?????."

7.  Nightly cold sweats and waking to find empty buckets of Blue Bell Icecream near the puter.

8.  Repetitively checking yer score and countless of foes scores to find yer place in the Sim.

9.  Posting in the wrong Forums.

and the eventual worse symptom evar..

10.  Driving long distances wearing Adult diapers, carrying wigs, lotsa money, pepper spray and maps to Grapevine Texas to just chat with Skuzzy.

Fear NOT Betty...Do not take that as a rejection. It may just be a Hormoanal setback but there will soon be a cure.

Hugs and <<>> Betty,

Mac

i am guessing of course, but i am basing this on the responses of those already on the CM team.  is there a rule somewhere that says that requests must be made in private?

as for her delivery...good for her.  it's not called a community for nothin.

This is along the lines of what I was going to post.

Good for you Betty <>, shame the CM's for ignoring you.

Wow.  I seem to be missing some in-game drama and intrigue with my game machine being down.

Hope this turns out okay for "Queen Bee " Betty, as she's always fun and popular presence in the war arenas and KOTH events.

Same same. We'd love to fly in the Squad opps events. But ,for us, starting at 11:00 at night just isn't feesable. The HARM missions really do the trick, but are often effected by ENY , not allowing us to use the AVA or midwar arenas, and get stuck in a pizza MA. Too bad really. Theres quite a large group of fliers that could add a lot to any event that are just ignored.

You should be in charge of whatever the CM team is... then I, and others who could care less, might even pay attention and participate.

Heh!  That's telling them!  (Oh wait, I'm one of those punks!  D'oh!)

The CM team is made up of a bunch of players who volunteer to do the admin work behind the various special events.  There are different groups of us for each of the different types of special events -- for example, I work on scenarios with the several other scenario CM's, but I don't work on Friday Squad Ops or the air racing, etc., which are different groups.  Each group handles its area and sort of takes lead on getting new CM's to work in its team.

Because the CM team is composed of all regular-player volunteers, organization is a bit more loose than if it were a business or a group working in the military or some other organization where the activity is an  avocation.

Nevertheless, the CM's I know (which is most of them) are a good bunch of folks working to apply some of their spare time to help make special events happen.  They want to do a good job, and they don't mean to insult anyone or piss anyone off.  In this case, I'm sure folks will be in touch with Betty and work to smooth things out, although they might be careful to keep their donkey holes covered just in case. :)

Now, on a separate topic -- I think you should play in the upcoming scenario Operation Husky to get more exposure to CM, special-event types of things.  Scenarios are where ex Marines should definitely participate!  Expecially this one -- the allied invasion of Sicily.  I even think there is one of the landing areas called "xMarine beach" if I recall correctly.

Here's a link to more info in case of any interest:

The upcoming scenario special event is at a time that might work for you.  It's on Saturdays in June at 3 pm Eastern Daylight Time US.  We'd love to have you and your whole squad join.

blkmgc, the same goes for you and your whole squad -- we'd love to have you folks join us.

More info on this scenario is here:

And for folks who haven't flown in a scenario yet and wonder what it is like, here is a pictorial of a frame from the previous scenario:

Thanks for the invite Brooke. But unfortunately most of us (30's & 40's) are spending time with the family or whatnot during the mid day. I've tried making these before, and it never works out. If you could swing these to EST primetime (7:00-10:00 PM) that would not only be cool...I'd buy beers and pizza. :)

That is an excellent recruiting inducement!  There have been events in the past later on Saturday, but then folks complain that they want to have Saturday night free.  Then there is Europe, where if we make it too late in the US, it is 3 am for them  (London is +5 hours from EDT).  It would be better for the Australians, though.  It's very hard to pick a time that works best.

Yeah, makes it tough. We'd be happy with one night a week, even if only for a few hours.

Either way, the effort you folks put out is greatly appreciated. I know as a former CM in a couple of different universes the work involved, and hope no offence was taken. Because most certainly none was intended.
