I've never had a problem too much with seriously rubber bullets but tonight I unloaded an entire MK108 load into a flight of Lancs and did not finish them.
I was firing only cannon... wing roots... engines (no fire, just oil on one), tail assemlblies..... sprite after sprite of 30mm.... nothing except elevators, which jumped off in short order.
I am not a terrible shot and in this case it was some n00b who wasn't firing anyway, so I wasn't being overly cautious or relying on snap -shots.
The funny thing was... after what seemed like enough 30mm to take out an entire flight of Lancs... I hit with 1 more round in the tail-gunner's compartent of the lanc I had been working and the entire back half of the aircraft 'jumped off', parts flying eveywhere (not the usual damage for the shot that landed).
Same deal with the other two, they took an inordinant amount of damage and then the last-round seemed to absolutely obliterate the aircraft, rather than just take off the relevant part.
In the end the guy took the last lanc into a suicide run on a field and the ack finished him.
I landed with 4 cannon rounds left.
This was decidedly unusual. It seems as though some aircraft have become sponges?
