Panel ine template for 38

I'm curious about skinning but with the time i have marking the lines has been very difficult.  Does anyone have a copy of the 38's lines i could use as a starter?

hehe

I believe it though. when I first started skinning waffle was always a believer in making people learn to do it themselves but I was like.. nah lets all share and be happy and more skins the merrier.

I have realised through experience that if you can't take the time to do the panels and rivets your not going to be able to take the time or have the patience to do a decent skin anyway.

Agreed.  Just wish I had the time to dabble in skins myself.

In my case I believe I have the patience to do the whole thing, I just don't have the time avalible. Between family, work, and "chores" around the house, I'm lucky to get 20 or so hours to fly a month. Trying to add in 20-30 hours of fiddling with skins, could take a year or so. By then all you "pros" will have all the avalible skins done and be well into the "bumping" process.

Having someone donate "panel lines and rivet" layers would cut the time almost in half, but you skinners are a possesive bunch! :D  I guess I'll just have to be happy to fly other peoples work..... as long as I don't have to pay any "royalties"  :aok

Time is the issue for me too.  Though part of the problem I'm having is getting the settings for PSP9 right, even at 1 or 2 pixels (per tutorial) the lines seem WAY to heavy, I'm going to confess my ignorance in matters graphic and was hoping to learn 2 things at once, skinning AND PSP9.

Since most of my issues seem to be program related I'd be happy to find someone knowledgeable in PSP9 to barrage with questions.

I think by adjusting the "opacity" of the lines layers you'll get more of what your looking for. I seem to remember someone saying they put for and aft lines on one layer and port to starboard lines on another, then the shadows and hi-light for each all on there own layers. It makes it easier to control if you keep it all separate.

just a thought, i was wondering if anyone had the PSP file for any skin, i would be interested in dissecting it to see exactly what is going on.

.....well, you see, thats where the problem started. One guy let his set of layers out, and another guy just changed the paint layers, and left the lines, shadows, stains, and weathering layers alone. Then he submitted it as "his" skin. So now all the guys who have been able to take the time to do a skin from start to finish, guard them very closely.

I figured as much, but heck I'd settle for one of the RV8 skins, but maybe I'm beating a dead horse here.

I don't know if you have been HERE They do have some temples that have just lines and rivet layers. Its a start to check out how others have done it, and it gives you something to practice with.

Thanks!  Might be just what the doctor ordered.
