Tempest

i've kinda been flying around in this plane...and all i got to say is:eek:  its a fun plane to fly, seems to turn pretty good at high speeds, but turns like a brick at low speeds:confused:

is the typhoon better then the tempest at anything (except rocket carrying ability)

and is it me or does the torque seem to be reversed in it :noid

i also have a question
What seems to be the best convergence for the cannons on it?

Tempest outclasses Typhon at all aspects. Faster, better climb, better turning performance and (often overlooked!) increased rate of roll.

And while no turnfighter for sure, many people do underestimate the Tempest's turning abiltity, most notably P51 and 109K-4 pilots.
Tempest can currently outturn many fighters in this game, especially many of the common E or BnZ types like 190's, Ponies, Thunderbolts and many more.

You are right, torque goes opposite to most planes in game.

Your convergence is much subject to personal preferences. I have them at 350, just like in all of my fighters. The hispanos trajectory and power may enable to shoot at much longer ranges, but if you push convergence range too far out, you might actually miss your targets at point blank ranges because your rounds pass the enemy left & right.

Every single one of my cannon planes has convergence set to D-200. Get nice and close so you can see the whites of their eyes...

had some fun with a few Spit's with a few frendlies
I was flying a Tempest
and friendlies flying various planes

:lol  it annoyed them on how i would dive on them and fly away then come back(rinse and repeat):lol

I used to do that. All guns 200.

Excluding 30mm, try setting others further out.

350 or so is really good in the G-6 with gondies. When your convergence is set at 200 those wing cannons are already spacing rounds at a big distance at 400 yards... making those shots almost entirely ineffective. At least with 350 you can still up close... but you don't have to close to 200 to get the perfect hit.

I've got my G-2 and G-6  3 x 20mms set at 400  at the moment.

Same deal with the 190s. Give it a shot, you might be pleasantly surprised.

I have the convergence set to minimum 400 yds or preferably more. You can shred the bombers to pieces already from 800-1000yds.

I have  400 on all cannon armed planes.

If your uber im sure you could hit anything up to 1000.

Tempest is beast of a plane when an aggressive pilots fly it.  Far too many just run.

I set up all cannon armed planes at 650 with the exception of the Russian fighters which I set to 400.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

I've got my G-6 set where the nose guns converge at 400, and the gondies at 300...works pretty well

i cant fly it good, i set cannons 225 all, trying to take a sneak shoot, pick, or snap shot. Tempest seems for me to be a better la7 or 190D, if you know how to flight you cant die

Some spit14's will give a good fight.

The P-51 Mustang seems to outturn anything above 275 mph with those strong flaps.

Against an F4U-4 pilot who's worth his salt, you may likely be dead.

Anything slower you can run from, but if they're good, they're probably slippery planes to hit.
