Sun glare on Clipboard
« on: May 22, 2007, 12:17:17 AM »
Wasn't sure where to post this and didn't find anything about it in a search.

Flying into the sun can be a pain but it's something any pilot has to deal with. BUT..you can put your head down or cover your eyes if you want to read something.

Is it possible to get the clipboard up and be able to see it while still
having the outside glare?
I know for the most part you can just alter course, but regardless, the clipboard should be readable at all times regardless of where the sun is.

3 hrs of watching 30 Bish chase a burning spit while lancs at 3k flatten

I often duck using my arrow down key.  If that doesn't work I use one of the other arrow keys to move my head enough to get a canopy frame to block the sun.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

did they not have sunglasses in WW2? Ok..prolly not Oakleys....but if HT persists in having the #@@#@ sun BRIGHT and low in the horizon 80% of the time, mebeb they ought model  'shades', that we might map to a key. Even if the sun is behind you, there is a glare on target and instruments that simply makes things absurdly difficult...and NO, adjusting gamma in middle of dogfight, depending on the compass heading of the moment, isn't an option.

Hmm..I wonder if gamma + and - could be set up such that ya could map it to your stick?
