There's hope for you yet. You are describing pretty much exactly how I got "fired" from lawncare duty 
the same here. she trained our son how to drive the tractor and relegated me to playing AH while they do the lawn. the boy is now 17 and last week he mowed down her liriope and took a big chunk outta the plumbago. that's my boy.
