Can someone explain this to me?

Tonight I had one of our newer Eagles, Rollins, riding along with me to see how I fly in the P-38G and P-51B (I know, he could pick better helpers, but I was the only one on). Anyway, on the last P-51B run he "sat in on", I had a decent flight, killed some buffs and some fighters, and lined up for a perfectly normal landing. Towered out, and much to our surprise, this message popped up.





Now I've had passengers in a fighter, but never seen this before. None of them were proxies, and all 6 of my kills were counted (I think it was a C. 205, an F4U, 2 B-24s and 2 B-17s). None of them were proxies, none were assists, and he (obviously) didnt shoot anything down.

On a night when all sorts or phreekie stuph was happening to me in AH Land, that takes the cake.

BTW, I just couldn't resist and gave him a WTG on the country channel. Like a true Eagle, he downplayed it as merely "good gunnery"

There are a few odd little things like this going on.

A couple of days ago i shot down two fellas with a few mins between them. The odd thing is that both were listed in the text buffer a s kill #1 and when i landedi didnt get the message saying i had killed two people. Sadly the text moved too fast so i didnt get a chanse to take a screenshot of this. The same thing happened to Jimmy in my squad a few days prior to this.

He got the proxy killzzzz

The observer seems to be towed. I noticed this with jaxxo one night, and have seen it happen at other times. When I was riding shotgun, any manoovr kills behind us, I would get the proxy for, and jaxxo got those who augered in front of us. At least that's how it seemed to work.

Yeah, but there were no proxy kills. All were actually shot down, and he said he didnt get any kill messages during the flight.

We can't know what he actually saw. In my (eek) nearly 6 years, I've never been killed, or gotten a kill, without something in the buffer, and I've been killed as a gunner, survived as a gunner, gotten kills as an observer, been killed as an observer etc etc, and there's always been something in the buffer.

My guess is still proxies, and that he simply missed the notification.

Next time check the new guy for weapons before he boards your plane, he's obviously stealin some of your kills.  That is a weird one though

I wonder if he pinged those 2 guys earlier, and then joined you, if somehow it kept his "mission" alive to get the awarded kills?
