Salute All,

Just concept at this time to see if anyone has her in the works?  Black 4 of III/JG7.  2 different profiles of her.  Both reflecting artist interpretations of RLM 76-82-83.  You will also see my palette of the same RLM's I have put combined from different sources.

I like the idea of what appears to be a white nose.  However, the first pic does not identify it as "white."  Only references the Licht-blau lower paint.  Each portion of my research in pics on the net show a definate white although they are all artist renderings.  I have not found a single period pic of her.  Even the Franklin Mint has it as definate white on their model of it.

o Thoughts of making the nose section white?
o Use of the color-scheme represented in pic 2 (definately not RLM 83?)
o Scratch all of it and make a 163?  :)

All input welcome.

I like that second one with the white nose and bare-metal forward sections of the jet-nacelles a lot better.

Any idea whos that was?
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

Heya Treize.  I havent found the pilot yet :(  Still in the research phase.  The thing about not having a period pic is that I dont know if the bare metal is actual or just an artist rendering.  I have seen a period pic before that did have bm there but was not this particular aircraft.  I believe it was a repair as it was only on one engine.

Even if it was only a repair and it was flown like that, I'd say go for it.

Found Her!  Squadron Signal Walk Around number 42, Page 10.  2 perfect period shots of her.  It also identifies her as II/JG7, not III Gruppe.  No information on a pilot but I believe I have enough to start and submit her.

It really was a White Nose.  Go figure :)  The book states that it was a replacement nose manufactured by the Avia Plant at Grosstschakowitz.

Pic 1 shows a perfect fuselage graphic to use in painting her...

pic 2 is a close-up of the nose section.  Should be a fun project.

I love a well researched skin effort, well done, looking forward to seeing it.

On a related tangent, does anyone have a photo/profile of the 262 Georg-Peter Eder flew with Jg7?

Regarding the bare metal on the engine nacelles, look here at approx. 42 sec. mark.

I like it someone should do one.

EDIT - Here's a better shot.
