Rearm pad?
« on: May 25, 2007, 11:14:52 AM »
Is the rearm pad available(and useable) on its own?

Thanks

Ryan

Yes, if you are using the OE.

CFYA, if you need assistance using the OE, use my tutorial. It's a little old, yet still in working order for the OE we have today.

Thanks Dux I was hoping it was yes.

Denholm: Great! Your Te tutorial was instrumental in my understanding of the TE. Thanks again!

Glad to hear you could use it. Just remember, it was not designed to help you make an MA approved terrain.:)

So far I havent seen major differences in the actual design.

Maybe the layout is more critical but so far other than that its fairly straight foward.

Thank Ryan

If you're still working on your MA terrain, pretend the OE doesn't exist. Nothing you can do with it will be accepted on an MA terrain.

So for the ma terrain there is no way to get the rearm pad by itself and it still be acceptable?

My regards,

Ryan

If you have to use the OE to place it, it's a custom object. So it's not allowed on MA terrains.

The rearm pad is already placed on pre-designed airfields in the TE. These you will find named:

lafld0
mafld0
smlfld0

All of those are MA accepted airfields that have rearm pads.

I was hoping for the rearm pad itself. I know the s,m,l airfields already have it.

I think you'd have to look for "rearm" on the list, or "arm". If it's not on there, look into the shpfilter.txt file and see if it's listed. If it is, delete it and it will show in the objects list of the TE.

CFYA if you're still working on an MA terrain, DO NOT place a re-arm pad anywhere except where it's built into an existing object (the airfields).

You don't want to see smoke come out of your monitor do you?

Seriously, if it's anything other than an MA terrain, you can use it anywhere.
