Korean War Flight Sims?
« on: June 11, 2007, 12:33:49 PM »
Anybody know if there are any current F-86 vs Mig 15 type flight sims out there?  I remember there used to be one called "Mig Alley" several years ago, but haven't been able to locate it - I think it's out of print.

It might be wrong, but I seem to recall that I heard a rumor that the IL2 people were gonna do a Korean war sim - anybody else heard anything like that?

Looking for a change from WWII - but not really into all the gadgetry of Modern jets like Falcon 4.0 etc.

have you gotten this to work correctly?  I realize it's free shwareware, but . . .

I gave up on Targetware after I tried the F-86 and it took me 10 tries to get off the ground in one piece.

Ridiculous flight model in that game.

It is ridiculous.  Every single aspect of flight is grossly exaggerated, by several times.  Adverse yaw, P-factor, gyroscopic effect, and all the rest are extremely over-done.  And their stalls stink (namely, like every simulator in the world except for Aces High, they don't exist apart from spins).

Mig Alley is probably the best you'll find.  I still have my copy somewhere.  To me it got old after a few weeks.  But here's a link to an ebay auction where you can "Buy it Now" for 5.88.
