How do you factor a kill towards rank, and a kill not towards rank?

Just wondering because the scores say I have 92 kills, but only 66 are towards rank, and I don't know what I did different. Thanks .....

One example are kills of vehicles while flying in "fighter" mode. Also kills in field or ship guns do not count for ranking purposes, and (I believe) kills scored in "bomber" mode.

That explains it Lusche. Thanks for the input. If you change to "Attack" and kill GV"s , do those kills go towards your rank?
