bluto.. the article is not about the free market economy... it is about how badly the free market economy can be ruined when the do gooder greenies and socialists get ahold of it..

The high prices here have very little to do with a free market economy and the even higher prices in your country have even less to do with a free market.   Your prices are almost all due to socialism.

I was being ironic! Our prices are purely down to tax with a little demand and supply thrown in!

Socialism here, never, Bush would never allow Tony Blair to do that!!

I love all the lectures from a place where elections are rigged!:aok

A rather famous Economist Isaiah Berlin (from whom most of the western world - especially the USA, base their idea of liberty) suggested a theory called 'Two Concepts of Liberty.’ It is  based on Positive and Negative Liberty (e.g. the free market economy) and has been most recently tried in Russia and the Iraq.

Ended up with the Oligarchs in Russia and Cival War in you know where!

There is no country that does not have some intervention by the state, it just depends on the level of control. European States hostorically have a more centralised approach and you guys have a kind of devolution of power to each state.

So we are are socialists but some of us admit it!

By the way the Magna Carta had nothing to do with socialism (which originated in the 19th Century), it was more to do with Feudalism since it was created in the 13th Century but I guess you knew that!
