We'll be spending the next 8 days there beginning tomorrow.
As I mentioned in another thread, Dad's getting up there in age, I've lived 1756 miles from home since I turned 18 and moved West.  Quality times with Dad are far and few...see you all in 9 days, hopefully with a good Muskie, Northern or Walleye story. :aok

Spent Memorial day Weekend up at Sand Lake Canada fishing with my Father and my son for Northerns.  I caught 18 of them over the 3 days we fished.  Biggest one was only 24", but just spending that quality time amongst the 3 of us was well worth the traveling!  Enjoy your Father while you have him for some day you won't.

There goes the neighborhood.  Rip's in MN, well at least the mosquitoes will have something to bite on instead of me.

have fun fishing with your dad.

I grew up 20 miles south of Leech Lake, my dad worked for Cass County before he retired so we're familiar with the are.

Rip,

Have a grand time with Dad.

Pick flowers while ye may.

Both my parents are gone.  Very fond memories and much love remains though.

Have a great trip and post pics for us. We won't believe any fish stories without pix and will likely think they're photoshopped anyhow...... :p

Was away for a couple years and moved back to raise the family.  My daughter went off to school out east, and after a couple years knows she wants to live back home too once school is done.

Kinda like old Minnesota :)

Well, leeches make fantastic bait.  They are livlier than worms, live longer on the hook,  and stay on the hook better.

Follow up:
Fishing wasn't so hot, but the company was great. My Bro-in-law, Dad and I.

Not very many Walleyes, plenty of Northern action, and perch were 10 on a dollar.
