My 2 cents.
Warlockl, I know you're a nice enough fella. I remember messing around in the DA with you a while back. I know you want to be seen as a "decent stick". The problem is that you come across on 200 as a know-it-all. You'll never be accepted as "skilled", if you have to keep telling everyone how "skilled" you are. I've seen others try it, and it didn't work for them either.
It's really best to just chill out on 200, and let your actions speak for you. Your words aren't working. If you become known as a "decent stick", great. If not, who really cares?
Honestly- you don't "suk". But you don't have it all together yet either. The times I've fought you in the MA you did ok, but not terrific. You're still making some pretty basic mistakes in a 1v1 scenario. That's ok, there's nothing wrong with that. It's to be expected at your experience level. You'll get better with time and experience, and more DA time would be helpful I'm sure. Your mouth on 200 won't likely help you find teachers though.
You belong to a squad you like. Great. Brotherhood helps make the game interesting. But my interactions with your squad have almost always been in 1v many scenarios. That's ok too. Different strokes for different folks. However, when it takes 4 or 5 people to shoot me down, I'm hardly going to consider them "skilled". Your squad may keep you alive, and I'll almost guarantee it will help your score/rank, but it won't get you known as a "decent stick". The decent ones don't need so much back-up.
Rank? Please? You'll never impress the better pilots in this game with rank. (Although, if anyone can give me some pointers on improving my bomber, attack, and gv ranks, without actually resorting to flying bombers, or driving gv's, or shooting cartoon buildings, please let me know. It would help my overall rank...) Rank is too easily manipulated. It hardly shows skill.
If you want to use rank effectively, use it to compete with yourself, not the other players.. Use it to monitor your overall performance, and strive to improve facets of it. Hit % for example. Or K/D, K/S, K/T, etc. That's what I do. I truly couldn't give 2 chits about whether my rank is better or worse than someone else. But if my K/T or Hit % is lower than I know I'm capable of, that might chafe me a bit. Telling someone your rank is better than theirs, so blah blah blah is foolish. As is getting upset because somebody else's rank is better than yours.
Typing/grammer. You're right, it is your choice. You come off as ignorant. If you choose to be seen as ignorant, that's fine. Just don't be shocked when you're seen as ignorant. That's foolish.
You're attempting to communicate through written words. If we can't understand you, or struggle to make sense of your writing, you've failed in your communication. We're not asking for perfection, just do your best. Keep in mind that humor is difficult to get across through writing, at least for most folks. If you attempt it and fail, you'll likely be viewed as a pompous ***.
Want some more DA time? Just holler. You know my policy, I believe. I'll take people there for training and learning, but not to shoot them down and make them feel inadequate. I like them to leave on a positive note, feeling confidant.
