During my recent trip to the North Central part of Minnesota last week, we encountered a severe T-storm while fishing, and is subsequently chased us off the lake.
There were tornado watches out during this time (according to our WX weather radio) Most of the tornado watches were 80 miles SE of our location.
When we got off the lake, this particular funnel cloud you see in the video (when I zoom in) was slowly rotating, so I ran to the camper to get my mini DV camera. When I came back, the rotation had stopped, but you can clearly see the partial funnel it created. It was pretty exciting for a few moments.
This is one element of the Midwest I really miss from growing up in Minn, the T-storms and violent weather. In WA state, we rarely get lightening, and once every 50 years we might get a small tornado that tears up a tree or two.
