I upped a Tiger the other day and rolled onto the runway, looked out to the left and right, and No F****** wings?????   How in the he11 are you supposed to fight with no wings?   I mean it has a great gun package, and ammo loadout, but if it can't fly, how do you dogfight with it?  Must have been a bug on that map!

Never mind the muppet banter.  They feel that somehow they must comment on anything, or everything.  People have fun in gv's... they don't see why, and they feel they have to mock someone for it.  It's standard repressed children syndrome: daddy-didn't-hug-me so now I have to bully someone in an online game.

C' est L' vie...

anyway... i agree, something has been done to the tiger... it's become completely ineffectual.  It takes one hit from just about everything now and goes pop... 50kg eggs are doing it.   Meanwhile the unperked M4 is gold... what's the point of spawning anything but, when fighting on the ground.  Best gun... quickest traverse of turret... highest elevation of turret...takes pass after pass from aircraft and keeps fighting.  Shot down 14 A/c with its' main gun the other day.  Unperked and overmodelled, the La-7 of the gv's.

Meanwhile... tiger now has the 2nd best gun... the worst elevation and the slowest traverse and reload period.... and it's perked.  Got tracked yesterday in it by a shot that bounced in from 70 yards away.  I know cuz i saw the thing bounce TWICE in my gunsight.

Bollocks ... the T-34 has the slowest re-load of all tanks in AH, don't paint with such a broad brush ... it doesn't help your cause.

Bollocks ... In all the years of playing this game and putting a fair amount of time in GVs, I have NEVER EVER seen a round bounce off the ground.

I have walked numerous rounds (at times) to range a GV and have had many GVs walk rounds to try and range me and NEVER EVER have I seen them bounce ... in either direction. Total BS without film.

Without a doubt HE rounds are nice cause you don't need a direct hit ... BUT ... any M3 that gets wacked by 1 Tiger AP round ... should be toast.

I'm no professional camper, but I did take a tiger out the other night. Lost the first 2 to direct frontal hits from Panzers at ranges between 800 and 1200, and the third to just a few hits- I heard a few impacts, 1 loud, maybe 2 softer richochet hits. It was the map with no Shermans enabled, and the only 2 vehicles I'd seen were T-34s and Panzers, so it was presumably one of those.

There is certainly a noticeable difference in the GVs (with the Tiger being a real weak link now) since the tweaks from the more recent patch, but whether this means the tiger was ridiculously overmodelled before, or is too vulnerable now is purely conjecture.

As far as the bouncing round, I have a really hard time believing that. I've never seen a GV round ricochet or bounce off of anything but another vehicle.

I read somewhere that the AP round will poke hole threw an M3, but do little damage as the hull isn't thick enough to do damage.

Remember, an AP round does the damage in RL, by spreading fire into the inner workings of the tank due to the heat generated by the thickness of the armor and the speed and hardness of the round hitting the tank (think friction generated blow torch).

An M3 doesn't have the thickness in the armor to generate enough heat, it just passes through (small hole in, small hole out).

At least, that's what I hear, but I am not an expert (nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn last night).

What you say is probably correct, but I have shot M3s at point blank range ... in the tracks ... in the engine compartment. Even if the round when straight thru ... I don't doubt for a second that the engine would be nothing but a smoking hunk of scrap metal or the tracks and drive train would be nothing but a bunch of twisted metal.

With that, I also fail to believe that anyone that is in an M3 and gets wacked by a Tiger round at point blank range would survive and if they did survive ... they wouldn't have the senses to be able to continue to drive the M3. The impact force and energy must be incredible when shot a point blank range.

Also, I wasn't just talking about just vehicle damage ... the driver should be taken into consideration (Pilot wound / Pilot kill) just like when flying a plane.

EDIT: The Tiger sports an 88mm shell that weighs 20kgs and has a muzzle velocity of of 1000m per second when firing armor piercing rounds.

M3s should never survive a hit from that.

What he probably saw (and this is just a guess) is the rounds of several tanks coming at him fired at approximately the same time, the first person's round hitting short and the second person's round closer but still short and the third persons round is probably the one that hit.
