The worst part about Downfall (actually the mark of a really fantastic movie) is the emotional drain and the absurd surrealism of it all. The movie really sucks you into the play and after about 15 minutes you feel that what you're watching is somehow reality rather than a recreation. It's that good. When I first saw it at the cinema only a very few people got up from their seats when the credits started, most just sat there with a blank stare for a few seconds. You'd have to have a really good home theatre system to get that effect though.
