I dont use any fancy techniques I just rotate or skew 1 pixel horizontal or vertical lines
or if its a curved line I use the polygonal lasso and fill it with black then move it over or down in the direction I need and delete the rest.
for circles i use the antialiased circle and delete the middle or use the subtract circle from the origional circle thingy then fill it with black paintbucket.
really basic methods I dont like doing things with fancy computer methods because I think people get to caught up in that effects BS and forget that they just need to draw and recreate what they see with their eyes and the rest takes care of itself more or less.
