I think your camera is broken, as the sky is supposed to be blue. Occasionally it is black.

All joking aside, I think your picture is great.  I love the color, texture and especially the sky.  I'm betting you used a polarization filter to achieve that wonderful gradient.

Thanks. You would lose the bet. Just a standard UV filter and early morning light. :)
